BRICK HUT PRESS

Sacred Lives, faithfully told.

We publish lives of sacred figures told from within their own tradition, with reverence, accuracy, and without comparative judgment. Ours is not a marketplace of spiritual options: each life is offered faithfully and in depth, so that readers may encounter it on its own terms.

What we make

A Sacred Life is a complete biography in three volumes. The first book holds the early life, the second the works and the ministry, the third the enduring teaching and everything that followed. They are written to be read the way a life is lived, in order, without hurry, and they are long because a life is long.

Each one is told from within its own tradition. When a tradition holds that something happened, we tell it as the tradition tells it, warmly and as fact, without the hedging that keeps a reader at arm's length and without comparing one faith against another. A reader who loves this figure should recognize the figure they love.

Where a life begins

Every life in the house opens with an Invitation: a whole book of roughly twenty thousand words, given freely. Not a sample chapter and not an excerpt. It is a complete portrait, and it is yours to keep whether or not you ever buy anything. Enter an email and it is waiting in a library of your own, to read or to hear, with your place kept between visits.

When a life is narrated, the audiobook comes with the book at one price rather than as a second purchase. Readers who buy a life before it has been given a voice receive that voice free when it arrives.

Brick Hut Press is a small independent house. We say plainly how our books are made, on the About page, because a house that asks for your trust should not be vague about itself.

For the devotee: the Library Card

Bought one by one, the 171 volumes on the shelf today would cost $1,368. The Library Card opens all of them, ebook and audiobook alike, together with every life the house will ever finish, for one payment of $369, yours for life. No renewal, no meter running, nothing to cancel.
